Since we bought/still paying for/moved into this house. Which is awesome because it means my family has a home, which is all I really wanted. It needed some TLC though. Of course, that TLC factor got the price to drop, which was very convenient to us.

Of course this post has nothing to do with cars, I’m just very proud that I have come this far in life. Life has been very...testing...to put it lightly. But I’ve made it 28.5 years, a new personal best. Plus I own/will own a house, have a working car plus a shiny blue driveway ornament, a beautiful wife of 5 years, an awesome toddler who happens to drive me crazy at times, a fuzzy cat and a dog who won’t shut up. I’ve become content with what I have. It isn’t much, but it’s mine. :).

Fuzzy cat as requested.

Plus here’s a bonus pic of her lying in front of the dog kennel (behind chair), trying to get me to pet her. She knows the dog gets jealous easily.

That first pic makes it look like she’s seen some shit in her time. My Cat Tom isn’t nearly as fuzzy but he is plucky and takes on huge birds.

We moved into our house 4 years ago. It was right around this time, maybe the 6 th. I tried to talk my budday into buying a little house but had no interest. I figured at 30 it was kinda time to invest in to something for himself than other people’s property (rent)

Yeah, I would of liked one. But putting the family in a house took priority. Plus....we desperately needed to get out of the house we were renting at the time, :/.

That cat really is fuzzy as hell. Long haired cats are the best cats.

Your property looks like you have plenty of space for one in the future.

She's furry and I love hugging her....like a man. Best part is, I can annoy her as much as I want, she knows I'm the best scratcher in the house, so she keeps going back.

In theory though, you pay less for a house but repairs come out of your pocket. With rent you pay for the landlord to repair stuff. But, owning means stability...which I like.

I know! I start with small goals. My next goal is 29 years and 6 years of marriage. Small goals are easier to achieve, :).

That’s true. A bit responsibility which is probably what sent my buddy running away. If you can do it yourself you save a fortune. I probably did 100k of work for half that. Just martial costs.

Ha, I have no idea what I’m doing half the time , :). It’s why I accidentally shocked myself installing a light in a ceiling fan, lol. But you gain valuable, useful experience from it.

Oh yeah, it wraps around the entire front part of the original house. Off to the right side, the deck widens a lot too. I have no pics of it right now, but I believe I could put the pt cruiser, the golf cart, and a lawn tractor on the deck if it could support it.

The deck is easily one of the coolest things about the house, :).

Ok, went through FB, found a pic of the end deck from last year. The foliage is gone, as is the propane tank. But it gives you a sense of its dimensions.

Since I havent figured what each fuse in the box does yet (we’ve made due with not knowing so far), I turn the light switch off.

Problem was, the switch lights up when it’s off, and when putting in the light I noticed the switch light wasn’t on. Well, the wires in the fan weren’t joined, and at the moment I didn’t realized that a complete circuit was needed to make the switch light up.

I stared at the switch, wondering if it was indeed off or not. Then I flipped it a few times, completely confused as to what to do. So I took a gamble and went back to installing the light. I guessed wrong. It was a short shock, but a shock nonetheless.

Since I have vacation in a week, I should probably put that on my todo list. They have it set up really funky.

When I first moved in I didn’t trust any of the wiring so I would just throw the main breaker on the box. If you have any questions I’d be happy to help and prevent any future shockers or collapses or what ever else

Funny story, my grandpa did the wiring back when the house was built in the early ‘70s. But since then, the various owners (I’m #4), they made certain liberties in how things are setup. When gramps was looking at the current setup, he said “this isn’t my handy work, I used metal boxes, these are plastic.”

Plus I get gems like this. Far right switch is 1. Who knows?, 2. Lights above stairs. The right switch...umm....as far as we can figure out, all three switches correlate to the dining room light & the outside deck light. One time the little one pressed a sole switch, and I spent a few minutes trying to figure out the switch combination. There are a lot of switches we haven't figured out yet either

Great job! I’m 27 and realized recently while checking my finances that I have far too many hobbies to actually save enough for a house haha. Maybe that will change next year but right now I’m having too much fun driving on track, snowboarding and boating haha.

Thanks! I guess it’s a good thing I married young then, and we didn’t have the income for fancy hobbies. Still don’t, but I don’t mind too much.

I actually used to collect game systems and games, but that got expensive and was shutdown before my daughter was born. Now it's sitting, ready for her to use, :). A couple nights last week, she watched me played Super Mario World on the SNES, and Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast. She enjoyed both, :D.
