IIRC they’re owned by the same people.
I’ll take a Bentley manual instead.

But which stage will the fight take place on? English Auto Repair or Philadelphia Side Street with a looping animation of guys stealing wheels off a Corolla?

Nothing from Helms for a CRX.

Of all these alternatives, I actually found one from Clymer. I guess I’ll buy it.

Nothing even on eBay? That's surprising...

Here’s a FSM for the 88-91 civics, everything should be fairly similar. I think the CRX is included in this manual but I don’t have the time to search it

Also, supplementary manuals can be found here:

Oh, I looked. The 84-87 CRXs are completely different. Torsion bar suspension, different bodywork, different engines. Thanks for looking, though.

Oh, you have an 84-87? I assumed 88-91 as they’re fairly more common. I’ll keep looking, hopefully something comes up

Yeah. It makes finding parts pretty difficult. But I found an ‘87 printing of an ‘84-’87 Chilton’s guide, specifically for the CRX, plus a Clymer book. I think I should be good. But if you come across anything, let me know. Thanks again.

I found this on ebay:

It says “one watching.” Is that you? ;-)

Oh, and I’ve always liked the Haynes better. But it probably depends on the car and year. The Volvo manuals I had were more specific to the car I was working on and didn’t cram so many years and models into the same manual.

I found that one too, but it wasn’t on my watch list. Thankfully, I just bought a Haynes and a Chilton from my manager for $10.

A good deal. So, what needs work on your CRX?

Heh. It’s more a question of what doesn’t. It’s not that bad, though. This wave of maintenance will handle steering, suspension, and clutch.
Shocks, struts, CV axles, probably ball joints, tie rod ends, many bushings, clutch, flywheel, rear main seal, and wheel bearings. An alignment to top it off.
The next wave will be engine/exhaust. I’ll have a custom exhaust made. Aftermarket header, valve adjustment, hunting down vacuum leaks, custom CAI. Probably an AGM battery while I’m at it.
Then I’ll deal with the broken plastic bodywork, sagging bumper plastic, rust removal/patching, and maybe a cheap paint job.
Then the interior. Lower, lighter seats, new carpet, and that should do it for a while.

Wow. You must really like this thing. Is this something you picked up recently, or do you have some history with the car.

I got it last summer after my WRX crapped out. Yeah, I like the car. The design is cool and ‘80s, and it’s the best city car I’ve ever owned. Parallel parking is dreamy. Hopefully next summer I’ll be able to Solo it. But to be honest, I just want to make it reliable for road trips. I have little doubt I can take it to 300k with proper maintenance, little of which was done for the 186k before I bought it. It’s still going to be cheaper than buying something newer, so I can drive it while I get out of debt and buy a house. Then I’ll use it as a winter beater and get an NA Miata or AW11 MR2 as my summer car.
