2009 Mazda3. It has the 2.0 with a 5 speed. Got a fairly decent deal on it. The only issue is on the rear bumper, there is a decent size scrape, so I am repainting that next weekend. It has a few door dings that I might do something about, but other than that it is in nice shape. Overall, it is a fun little car. Still haven’t decided what I am going to do to it performance and handling wise, if I do anything.

Congrats on the buy, 3’s are fantastic little cars (I shared a 2.3 auto with my brother in high school and learned to drive stick in my uncle’s 2.0). In my experience the 3 handles extremely well on stock suspension (to the point that you don’t really need to change anything unless you’re planning on doing track days or HPDE’s, in which case a coilover set and some sticky tires would make the car even better to drive) but a lot of people on the forums swap out intake, headers, and exhaust to make up for 2.0’s relative lack of power (you can get nearly 160whp just from those 3 mods). Be sure to join mazda3forums.com and mazda3revolution.com as well, the community on those sites is extremely knowledgeable about these cars and willing to help with any questions you might have.

Welcome to the family! I’ve had my 3 hatch (2.3 auto) for six years now and it’s still a great car. No rust, either. :)
I was on Mazda3Forums but gave up on it a few years ago as everyone was really rude and judgmental. Maybe it's better now? Not sure. But Mazda3 Revolution and MazdaMovement are both great Facebook communities to be part of.

Amen to that. It’s crazy fun taking this car through the twisties. I have Eibach Pro-Kit springs on mine - more for looks than performance. But it’s still a really fun and great handling car even though it’s an ‘08 with 76k on it.

Congrats! Did you buy it at a VW dealer (cause that's probably why you got such a good deal...)?

More 3’s, nice! Congrats. Did you get the Sport or GT version?

Yeah. My dad worked at that dealership while it was still Saturn from ‘99 to ‘09 when he started having health issues. I have known everyone there for basically my entire life, so they hooked me up.
