I’ve added an ‘artist render’ (my own MS Paint skills) to show how I’d improve the look of this vehicle.

My first suggestion (plus a ride hight/plumpness fix. Bumper needs some work too):
Thoughts?

I prefer some ground clearance and suspension travel. Not that one of these would ever be used for such things...

So crossovers are turning into lifted wagons and hatchbacks while the coupe-style versions are becoming lifted sedans and sedans are becoming four-door coupes.
Im starting to think that the front-engined, two-door coupe style will die off before the manual or the NA ICE.

I’d just buy a C class, that thing looks ridiculous.

i think these “L’s” are a good 10k under the C’s
i think. im referring mainly to the cla vs the c, but assume the gla is in the same ballpark.

nahhhh... plenty of rich dudes out there that have nannies to cart the kids around, or dont even care, who will pay for their 2 door coupes. granted these will be mostly sports or at least sporty cars. but there is a market.
also... with what seems like diminishing costs to design and launch a new derivative model, there doesnt seem to be much upside in discontinuing a coupe version.

So basically you want it to look like the 5 Series GT judging by your first suggestion? Looks kinda Panamera-ish to.

Well, I would have preferred it if they’d left this a concept. But they didn’t. In my opinion it looks horrible. Horribly unbalanced, with the sleek roof, the plumb body and the tractor wheels.

Nah GLC and the Coupe version replace the GLK. With the GLA becoming the entry level CUV (really it’s a lifted hatch) the GLK/C moves up market a bit. Pricing should be around the C Class pricing.

Honda couldn’t sell this design why would Mercedes be able to?

so confused.
does a glc exist?
generally speaking... youre saying you think the lineup turns out like this
entry level: cla (sedan), gla (small suv/hatch),
compact: c (sedan), glk (small suv), glc (sporty small suv)
you need a phd just to keep track of the nomenclature.

You’re pretty close except the GLK will be replaced with th GLC and GLC Coupe. MB is making X4 and X6 competitors and simplifying its naming scheme.
CLA - GLA
C Class - GL C (no more GLK)- GLC Coupe (X4 Comp)
E Class - GL E (no more ML) - GLE Coupe (X6 comp)
S Class - GL S (Replaces the GL, hasn’t been shown yet)
G Wagen remains G.
CLS remains CLS.
Rumors of a CLE (think smaller CLS) 4 Series GC/A5 Sportback competitor are swirling too.

So you wanna make it worse?
Seriously the original has a certain charm to its plumped up, expensive Rally Car style. Yours is just a normal 5door gran coupe. And they already make another one of those.
