I would've just bought a car that could drive on three wheels. Because I'm lazy...

Indeed. And it's far from the only dual-chevron-badged car with that particular feature.

You could conceivably swap a good tyre from the back for the flat one on the front. But even with two flat tyres, the suspension could still keep the car level and steady, as proven by Charles De Gaulle's assassination attempt in 1962. His DS was sprayed with bullets, yet all of them missed him and despite two punctures, the DS was able to escape at full speed.

Nice to see the fuel tank protected against rear impacts.

That That particular fact saved the french president charles de gaulle's life. A would-be assassin shot out one of the rear tyres on his presifential DS but thanks to the hydropneumatic suspension setup his driver whisked him to safety :)

Fun fact: Citroen was the first to fit a tire pressure monitor as standard fit to their cars because with the hydropneumatic suspension meant that you wouldn't ever feel a flat tire, due to extra Frenchness.
Fun fact: Citroen (Well, PSA) only made the tire pressure monitor standard fit in 1999. On the Peugeot 607. Ugh.
