I walked in for my interview, sat down, and basically the guy told me I got the job before he even asked many questions. He told me I need to be careful, because if I scratch a $100,000 car, I am the one that has to tell the owner. He then gave me a tour and told me I need to do a background check and drug test. I start in around a week. The pay isn't bad either. It's base pay + commission for each job. The jobs range from old S80's to brand new $150,000 Range Rovers. They are very accomodating to my schedule, basically I'm working evenings from around 3:30-8:00 during the week, and Saturdays from 9:00-4:00. Basically the job at hand is 1) Clean new cars after they go through pre-inspection. 2) Clean new cars after they are purchased. 3) Install taillight 3 blink modules in new cars. 4) Clean trade-ins. 5) Clean cars when we are paid to clean them.

tl;dr I work for a Jaguar/Land Rover/Volvo dealer, doing detailing work. And it's going to be great.

Thanks to all who supported me!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!

3) Install taillight 3 blink modules in new cars.

Not sure if I like these yet or not. Leaning toward yes. They're quite the attention getter.

My dad has one on his Miata. It's good for a car that small. They're pretty helpful when the person behind you is distracted.

There's a Honda dealer in town that puts them on EVERY car they sell. I've even seen them running around on test drives with dealer plates and the little advertising sticker in the back window showing off the blinky thing.

They certainly do make you notice them.

I am thinking you need a new sub-blog: "Found in trade-ins"

The kinds of things, that people who are either readily able to buy 75k+ cars or those who are willing to go into pretty substantial debt over a car, leave behind in their old cars.

congrats. I got a job a few years ago in the same office as my father working for the state. I got the call around lunch saying I was hired so I called my father and told him and that all I need was the drug test. I then asked if he could profuse l provide me with a sample add I didn't think I'd pass. Turns out he was at lunch with the top person in our office. He was not happy. I passed so all was good

What's a taillight three blink module?

Nah, they're bad and illegal. NHTSA has studied them numerous times and found them consistently to cause ambiguity when brakes are applied while not increasing safety.

Here's a whole bunch of reading on various companies who petitioned to have them allowed and the studies/responses if you're interested:

The thing that makes the center brake light flash three times. A lot of newer cars have them.
