Now let's see how long it takes to get my stash back. Actually getting the Ranchero sandblasted would be pretty sweet.

There is a cat living in our Chero right now. No progress has been made on it because the Capri came home.

Curse its sudden but inevitable betrayal. I'm actually ahead of the game on some things Ranchero, like having all the metal, floorboards, and such to finish my sheet metal work, and all my front suspension gear ready to go - and the suspension *and* axle stuff for the rear is only going to be another $200 or so. Of course, that doesn't count several hundred shortening the axle shafts and the engine is far from ready, but still - I'm not that punishingly far from being able to have it at least on wheels *financially speaking*. Metal wise, lots of small fiddly stuff that has filthy metal in the way...

Hoping my refund can pay for some summer tires for AutoX or some suspension parts.

The fellow doing the brake lines in my Taurus called today. He said the front wheel bearings were so worn out, he coukdnd check the ball joints and tie rods for play.

State and Fed for me are ~$1000 (yay student loan interest deductions... or not). More than sandblasting will run, but the rest is needed for various things including expanded project shelter.

Oh lawd. I was due wheel bearings in the Benz here recently, but parts were all of a towering $45 or so, so pffft. Mine weren't loose, just worn absolutely the fuck out (double tapered roller, because it's the best).

Last year mine went to paying for a summer class, which I pulled out of half way through. Never should have done it in the first place. oh well

I hate paying for things that are non-tangible and can vanish into vapor like that. Things that are imaginary and require lots of time input are by far the worst.

This was a 6 week class( so less than half a semester)to learn a whole semester's worth of stuff, just under 3hrs for 4 days a week. Which also kept from working more hours at my summer job. Never again.

Just now? I did mine just over a week ago. Now I'm waiting for the money to rain down on me.

The loan interest statement for one of my assorted lumps didn't come out until less than a week ago, and I was intent on deducting All The Things. I figure this is probably the best time of year to get the ball rolling - and since last year I owed some state tax, I figured I'd pepper my angus ahead of time if needed. It wasn't, thankfully - small state refund this year.

It was a math class(my toughest subject). The class just moved insanely fast, the amount of work I would have needed to put in on my own honestly made it not worth it. Hence why I never should have done it in the first place.

Thought about that, but it's a tad overkill for what I'm getting done and far more expensive. Not aware of anybody that local doing it, either. If I ever get something truly valuable I might give it a whirl, but with this... I think I can keep rust in check without.

I don't envy you guys in the U.S. having to do your own tasex. I lived abroad for a year and was put on self assessment for when I came back. I was only supposed to do it the once but they forgot to remove me from self assessment and the second year the computer had sent me out the form and as it had been sent then legally it had to be filled out. Now I'm back on the regular PAYE (pay as you earn) system and get my monthly pay slip from work with tax already deducted and each March I get a P60 from the HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) with a yearly breakdown of how much I've earned, how much taxable pay and how much tax paid. Happy days.

Mine are a bit more $60. Still not that bad though. I seem to recap that the wheel bearings on my fathers Silverado were over $200 or something crazy.
