I think he was spot on with almost everything he said. It is kinda like Lamborghini's Boxtser/Cayman/944 ect(but not really). Sure, it's another awesome Lamborghini masterpiece, but it's a Lamborghini to sell high volume(whatever that means for them), so they can make money; every car manufacturer needs a car or cars like that. It's not that it's a bad car, I wouldn't know, but it certainly doesn't impress me as much as any other Lambo has. It shouldn't be thought of as a super special sports car, but just an awesome sports car, if that makes any sense.
If Hammond said anything I didn't agree with, it's that it doesn't look that great, I personally think it's a good looking car with obvious design cues, especially dem louvers:
If that didn't make sense then have this picture of some Huracans my friend snapped at the local Lambo dealer he works right next to a month ago, fresh from delivery.
It was interesting how it was faster around the track than the Aventador.

Best DRLs I've ever seen on a car, hands down.

I agree. The Gallardo it replaced was way prettier in my opinion. I'd take an Lp550-2 any day before a Huracan.
Lambo got it right with the Aventador but I really dislike the Huracan I don't think I will ever warm up to it. Not that it matters since I'll never be able to afford one anyway.
But from a daydreamers point of view the Huracan is a huge fail.

I agreed with the review and it's not a very Lambo'ish car, but god, you can't argue with that lap time. I also think there's a new Stig.

I much prefer the looks of the Gallardo, it just looks like a simple sports car.

I'm watching it on TV, I have it recorded from last night. :p
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

I think that, in general, Lamborghini's problem is that when they went from the Diablo to the Murcielago and the Gallardo, the design change was incredible. Yes, the general silhouette remained, but the rest was very fresh, very new.
The Aventador and the Hurucan, to me, feel like their predecessors rebodied to look like the Reventon. It's a natural evolution... but I want something completely bonkers. I want Lambos that look like the Veneno.
You can definitely feel the VAG influence. It's all very good, but maybe a little to proper.

Well, the original Gallardo was faster than the original Murcielago too. I'm thinking it's the lighter weight that gets it around faster, since the track seems to favour lighter, more agile cars.

It seems the budget Lambos are faster than the halo flagship cars. :p

There was some talk on reddit about it, and the lap looked different. Like I know the car is brilliant, but it looked so much cleaner than I've ever seen.

I was going to reference Nurburgring times for more info, but they're all over the place and make no sense at all.

Saw the review as well - this is Lambo's Cayenne - build in high volume and make good money on every single one.

You know what? That's OK with me.
Leave the crazy batmobile cars and their big, braggable features* and price tag for the people that want to be seen IN a Lamborghini, and the "lesser" ones for enthusiasts.
The ballers don't care how well they handle.
*Features to include: Engine size, horsepower, top speed, (as long as it was +1 over the smaller cars) wheel size, and price.

Even with the same driver - weather conditions, temperature, track condition - even a slightly distracted Stig - can affect the time.

He summed it up perfectly by saying, "It's a great car, but it's a bad Lamborghini."

I love the huracan. I think it's a better car than the aventador because you can drive it. It's also gorgeous, IMO. I wish it came in stick, but it's brand new, so who knows...

Quit yer whining everyone. You all remember later Gallardos, while the first was fairly vanilla. The Huracan will go the same with gajillion different edition and ever increasing horsepower, wing and wheel sizes. There will probably even be a brown-ish RWD version.
Give the guys some time, it barely rolled outta the factory.
Bad for Lambo my ass. It's a solid, inoffensive platform to sell, while they bolt on the insano-bits.

It's been more than a couple of years, where's the RWD Aventador? Exactly how many RWD Gallardos did they make again? :p

The Aventador has nothing to do with this. It has to be a mental super/hypercar outta the gate. The baby model, however, they can dick around with.
They made 250 RWD Balboni edition Gallardos. What's your point? :)

Plus they made additional RWD cars after the Balboni edition. There was a standard Gallardo with RWD: the LP550-2

The only things that make the new V10 car worse than the original Gallardo (which was also criticized and improved on after only 2 model years):
1. The Huracan understeers even more than the original Gallardo did
2. The Huracan has crappy electric power steering that isn't as good as Porsche's electric power steering
3. The Huracan is not available with Manuél
Other than those (admittedly important) things the Huracan is nice. It has N/A V10 POWER and looks WAY better in person than it does in pics. Anyone who has seen it in person and thinks it is ugly is seriously smoking crack. The Huracan is one of the best looking cars on sale today. It's wider than the Gallardo, which gives it more street presence. It's just more exotic looking than the Gallardo was.
I'm sure Lambo will improve the handling and the steering. They'll have a lighter track-focused special edition within 3 years that everyone will love and want to buy. Then the base car will get a mid-cycle refresh in 4-5 years from now and it will be great. Then there will be a track-focused version of the refreshed car 6-7 years from now and everyone will love it. But then Lambo will do what Lambo does and keep the Huracan around until it's 10-11 years old and everyone will be tired of it and wanting to see the replacement. The replacement will come out and be underwhelming at first and history will repeat itself all over again.
