So as I was driving in to work this morning I had to take a cloverleaf interchange, as I was going around that corner (with some asshole so far up my ass I could taste his bumper) I hear this sound sort of like a gas canister discharging. I then see a cloud forming behind my car. I fear the worst, that I just blew a head gasket or something potentially very costly and difficult to repair. I've had a blown head before and did not recall that sort of noise, but that was my first fear. But no check engine light comes on. No dire warning from my car at all.
As I am thinking about how to get to a safe place, a thought dawns on me. I proceed to the office and then park. I pop my trunk while getting out of the car, and my thought was confirmed by the puff of "smoke" coming out of the trunk when I shut the door. I look into my car to see that my fire extuinguisher has managed to discharge.
This one is fully on me as it was just sitting in my tool bag and not properly mounted. One of those "I'll get around to it" things.

If it was an ABC extinguisher and you care about the car, get on clean-up ASAP

Yeah, I figured as much. Just wasn't sure if you knew that ABC extinguishers (if it is one- I'm not sure because the bottle is white and it looks like a residential unit) contain a compound that's corrosive, especially to aluminum.
Glad it wasn't something more serious!

It's a household extuinguisher. Got it when going on a 1600 mile road trip and something was better than nothing. It's been banging around in my tool bag for a while, so I am sure that is the cause of the premature discharge. I need to get to a vacuum, hopefully before the rain/snow starts here.

Something 2 lbs or larger. BC rated.
The number in the rating (like 5B:C) is related to the firefighting capability.
The Halguard 250 series look cool and are supposedly mess-free however they are 2B:C where some of the others are 5B:C. According to the NFPA the larger the number the better.
I'd get what your budget allows as long as it's not a 1 lb unit.
