Repost now that I can post on OppositeLock.

So I've been really obsessing over the Focus RS video (announcement in a week!) and I wanted to point something really interesting in the announcement video.

If you take a look at 0:30 seconds, you'll see some really interesting tire marks being made. As Ken Block is drifting, you can see that the front left tire makes tire marks on the ground and then as he drifts by, the rear right tire makes tire marks. I've attached screenshots and circled where the tire marks are being made.

Is this confirmation that the Focus RS is AWD or can FWD cars also make tire marks with their rear tires? What do you guys think?

I think that this car will be irrelevant once Ford drops the Fiesta RS on us, even if they just drop the Focus ST engine in it.

FWD cars can too. Notice the smoke coming off the back wheels.

So yeah I still have no idea whether or not it is AWD or not. At the moment I reckon it is likely going to remain FWD unless they announce a Fiesta RS then I reckon the Focus RS will end up as AWD so it can take on the Golf R and the Fiesta can handle Ring records.

That's true. I guess he could be ebraking it (although I still have my sneaking suspicions). Thanks for sharing the vids.
