RK Motors of Charlotte, NC purchased the number number 2 car, chassis P/1046, and will restore it to the specs it ran/won LeMans in 1966. It was modified by Holman-Moody for the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. It is expected to be ready in time for the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours. So start saving folks.

Oh, my. Oh, my. Oh, my. That is fantastic! When I read Holman-Moody, it rung a bell in my brain, so I went to my Ford GT/GT40 folder. The very first entry in this folder, dated 14 June 2006, is:

I'm building a model of that car now! I 'll save this pic for details. Thanks!

Very cool piece of history. Thanks for that. (between GT40's and scantily clad women posing with cars, you have a treasure trove of cool stuff. I hope your hard drive never dies) :)

I hope it gets used on track after Pebble Beach. These cars should not sit.
