Is a perfect illustration of the stages of decomposition. No wonder these things rust out.

Leaves kill cars. I had 40 years of the damn things in my car when I restored it.

A rain forest in my kitchen...errr...fender! Great photo.
I see Oak predominately. I suggest some Maple and Locust for a truly fine mulch. (Not really.)
This illustrates one of those design issues that I have to question. If you leave drainage gaps that will pass water and small particles, but admit larger ones (like leaves) but not pass them, what would be the thinking? Oh - I get it: economic development for detailers and that select section of the populace that's restored these cars in the past and has tools to clean out those spots. Blarg.

Yep, that's the rust spot/place to look that I was talking about. Looks like some high quality compost at the bottom there!

I had some AW11 compost as well. Luckily, no rust there.
