You find the price of a restored one a little too rich for your blood? Here's one from the recent barn find, being auctioned in Paris on the 6th of February. No reserve, estimated to fetch €20,000 to €25,000. Go on, you know you want to.
Catch? Given the publicity, it'll go for a lot more than that. Oh, and the purchase price is just the start of a long and expensive process.
I'll be there but without my chequebook...

Stupid media messing my car buying plans. Even our largest newspaper was telling about the collection today. Usually they don't care much about old cars.

Where is this auction being held? Can you actually attend if you're not a buyer? I'd love to check it out, especially if there'd be another Oppo there.

It's at Rétromobile at the exhibition centre at the Porte de Versailles. More at www.retromobile.fr
I don't know how attending works but I expect huge crowds.

I fly out tomorrow and hope to be there for the auctions on Friday and possibly on Thursday evening too as I suspect huge crowds on Friday.

I arrived to Paris today (on Wednesday) and I went to confirm if we can rent a car transporter. We should be good with the car transporting if we get lucky in the auction.
I'm afraid that the auction has received too much media coverage as our largest newspaper mentioned it again and even posted (AFP) pictures of the auctioned cars. Our car hunting party is targeting four cars and three of of them were in pictures by our newspaper. I'm a bit worried now.
