Not funny.
Overdone joke that was inaccurate in the first place.
Folks were treating a vehicle with a factory warranty like full-on pre-runner or Trophy-class race trucks, didn't take the proper precautions to scope out their track and understand the capabilities of the trucks, and were jumping them over a much greater height than the trucks were designed for.
The frames and suspension did exactly what they were designed to do, that is, fail at a particular point rather than bottoming out or exploding, such that the trucks were amazingly still drivable.

Oh I'm well aware of that ... but I do figure Top Gear might bring it up. Top Gear does like to pick out the gossip on certain vehicles (mainly American) - truth or not.
I'm a fan of the Raptor. Anything can be pushed beyond its capability (which in this case is already fairly high) especially getting "mad air" in a truck not exactly designed for it.
The Raptor not a factory production TORC competition truck- but some people think it is and that's not right.
