It's been several years since I've been up to Detroit, and my son has been counting the days until we go up on Tuesday. Anyone have a suggestion as to where to park? I wouldn't mind taking the people mover, if that is a good option, as that seems like a good way of parking far enough away to avoid being gouged by nearby parking areas.

It should be fun, although my son is a bit disappointed that Tesla doesn't have a bigger display area. He is really interested in them, as he is going to a technical school next year for 7th grade.

If you're going to park as close as possible, get there well before 9am or 10am.

The meters don't work, park wherever you want!

Parking at Greektown is normally free (might be charging for the auto show) and you can get the People Mover (seriously, who named that shit? Dr. Seuss???) from there.

I used to park @ the Greektown garage and ride the PPL mover. It's pretty convenient, when the ppl mover works, plus you get to see one section of COBO hall from above!

i went yesterday. Greektown is good. Parking is $20 at the lot I was at. The people mover is indeed functioning so you should be good to go. Lots of restaurants in that area which is good because the food at cobo sucks and is expensive.

I went yesterday. We just tipped the Valets at the Crown Plaza, and they parked it for us.
