The remake, you numnuts.
In what seems to be a marketing ploy for MINI, (they were new at the time, remember that), the movie is actually quite decent, and the engine noises are fairly accurate.
It was in a series of movies I watched on the flight from Sao Paulo to Miami earlier on this month.
One of the characters has a classic Rover Mini Cooper, and drives like a jerk with it. Their driving comes in handy later on, when they do the heist. It seems like their heist car is supercharged, when the other two aren't.

Yeah, they used one MINI Cooper S (red) and two regular Coopers (white and blue).
The big giveaway is the fact that the red one has the S hood with the scoop, and side shots of it showed the S badge on the fender, where the other two lacked them.

I liked that remake as an 8 year old.

funny, when that movie came out, my dad was 1/2 joking, 1/2 serious about buying me, him and my mom matching minis (like the movie) and start following bank trucks around for fun XD

I quite like the remake. I finally saw the original a few months ago, and I thought it sucked something awful.

You mean the Los Angeles Job. Lol. Still a great movie though.

They did a heist in Venice in the beginning of the movie actually, that's when this story starts.

Unpopular Oppinion: I prefer the remake. To me it seems to be more cohesive as a whole and I thought the ending of the original was dumb. Donald Sutherland is great, but it would have been much better if that character were played by Michael Caine in the remake.

The newer one wasn't a remake as such it was meant as a follow on from the original but could also be appreciated as a singular film in it's own right.

I prefered the original. The second was okay but they had hyped it up for the modern day viewer which was a slight let down. I think it would of been better to film it in the original style but set in the modern day, maybe in Germany or France.
The start of the second one was a homage to the first and then became Americanised very rapidly.

Once the story moved towards Los Angeles, it went entirely differently than I expected.

Ye', Which is a real shame.
I think they should of taken a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt Hahn, Germany rather than the United Airlines flight to LAX, U.S.A.

I love that he basically only ever plays Handsome Rob in every film he's been in.

It obviously can't be nearly as good as the original, as it doesn't start with a Lamborghini Miura being driven on mountain roads.

You watched the wrong italian job. Michael Caine did it better in the first one
