As some of you may have seen, I made this keychain for the person I got for Secret Senna. Some of you also expressed interest in having one of your own. I might have found a way for you guys to get what you want! Click on through to the other side for dem deets!
While I am busy and can not undertake producing these in any sort of quantity over like 2, I made an account at shapeways.com and cleaned up my model a bit more and resized it to be more daily-use friendly. it's not about 3" long including the loop that actually goes around the key ring, this is just slightly longer than a normal-ish sized key. I have the first print from them on its way to me currently and if their quality and finish is up to what I want(as well as my resized/tweaked model not being borked) I'll go ahead and post it up for public sale!
Now It looks like with shipping and their cost and all it'll put them somewhere right around $15 to your door. Is that reasonable? I could downsize it more to cut print time and make it cost less. Also, I know some other people have produced Oppo-branded merch and it hasn't been an issue, but I want to make sure I'm not stepping on any toes and won't get a cease-and-desist letter in the mail anytime soon... I promise I'm not making moneyz in any sort of appreciable quantity with this(if it happens), but what's the actual rules on 'selling Oppo-branded merch'?

As in 1.5" including the loop off the end for the keyring? That would make it small enough that I couldn't print the holes in the spokes of the wheels or anything... 3" overall puts the actual 'OPPO' at just under 2.75", which definitely isn't too large.

I should also state that the one pictured is also right at 4" long, I'll post pictures of the new smaller one whenever it shows up.

Neato. In previous cases where people have asked about use of the Oppo logo, Matt has stated that Jalopnik won't excercise any control over it and that it belongs to Oppo. As such, you're free to use it, even to make a little money for your efforts (as I'm sure those who make the stickers do as well).

How long does it take to print? Doesn't look like anything over a half hour at 100% infill.
You could always throw a couple into the same STL and print a batch overnight, it isn't that terrible. Unless the printer is right next to your bed, that could get really annoying though.

I think the 1.5" one would be perfect!

Was cleaning up old open tabs and came across this - did you ever end up selling these?

I got one prototype made through Shapeways.com, I was somewhat unhappy with the quality and the liberties they took on production methods. That coupled with the people seeming to all want slightly different designs ended up making me put it on the back burner, if there were some more interest and a better way to produce them I would be all for it, the one I printed personally turned out awesome but I can’t use that printer for anything bigger than my random quick ideas.

I wonder what it would cost to get these produced traditionally (not 3D printed), and how big of a run you’d have to do to make it cost effective...

I’m not sure. That could be looked into.
