pristine the advertisement says.

i suppose these could be considered "collectible." more like a eifel tower souvenir from paris you put on a shelf. but still... a yugo for nearly $10k?

what would you pay for this little piece of automotive memorabilia.

also... sweet racing stripe!

These things were only $4000 when they were new! CP doesn't even begin to cover this!

I love shitty little cars, but that's crack pipe all the way. There are still Yugos around and a lot of them have low miles since the things were so shoddily assembled it was hard to put a lot of miles on them. Still, I'd pay a couple grand for that one. How many Communist cars can one find in America these days?

is the battery even held in by anything? or is free to smash into everything as you go around a turn?

That metal bracket with the bolt going through it on the left side of the battery holds it down, there's a little lip on the bottom of the battery that it holds onto.

I'll have you know Yugoslavia had nothing to do with the Eastern Bloc, save for 3 years of not pissing the Soviets off after WWII. :D

To Stalin:

Stop sending people to kill me. We've already captured five of them, one of them with a bomb and another with a rifle (...) If you don't stop sending killers, I'll send one to Moscow, and I won't have to send a second.

—Josip Broz Tito

Also, utter crack pipe at the price, this one.

i concede that (like most of us with a US education) i have only some understanding of eastern european politics post ww2.

in fact, i thought i was being [somewhat] thorough, by checking the wiki for eastern bloc. if i had actually done my due diligence and didn't only look at the contents outline, i would have figured this out myself. seriously, i just looked at that outline, saw yugoslavia on it, and thought, OK.

thank you for the correction... perhaps i'll re-title.

No sweat, laddie, we don't much care round these here parts anyway. Too torn by internal disagreements and what not. :D I did think it was a fun story, though.

Have some fun Yugos for sale around here in exchange for sitting through a geopolitical lecture...
