Hate to be that guy but from this angle it looked like an Accord Coupe with a rather ugly body kit. Another pic of the front below (which I don't like the massive grille or odd lights.)

I love it. Alot of people hate it but I like it because it's very out-there. I think it looks more wild than an M4.

People hate these new Predator grills, but I like them, it's a neat design risk taken from a company known for being extremely conservative.

Im just more conservative so yeah the 4 series to me is a lot nicer. I guess im just not used to Lexus making radical cars like this... its a crazy change

An acquaintance of mine in California purchased the first one of the lot in his area and the Lexus media team came and took photos. This was about 8 weeks ago or so. His is this same color I think.

I am all for distinctive designs but everything about Lexus' recent design language feels so incredibly forced. Its like some boss at Toyota one day said:

" shiieet, we heard people find our cars lame so let's do something about it! Take that design of our new 2014 IS sedan there and make it look aggressive and edgy." Designer presents his draft 5 minutes later: " No..., that's not edgy enough, it needs more creases!........trzzlzzllzzllzzz.....Not quite there yet........................trzzlzzllzzllzzzllzlzzz................I think we still needs more creases!.....................trzzlzzllzzllzzzllzlzzlzlzlzlzlzzllllzzzzz..........................Not enough creases, I want more creases!..............trzzlzzllzzllzzzllzlzzlzlzlzlzlzzllllzzzzzlllzlzzlzlzlzlzlzllzlzllzlzlzlzlzl..............MOAR CREASES! And oh hey, just separate those DLRs from the main headlight cluster, but make it look like its kinda still one unit? Yeahh, that'll show BMW and Audi whos the new playa in town! RIGHT IN THEIR FACES!!!"

Take away the over the top edgy creases and cutouts and you are left with a fairly generic car, the typical Toyota/Lexus product of the last 15 years. It's perfectly fine to find a way to distinct yourself from other manufacturers design-wise, but not by simply cutting character lines and creases more or less randomly into an anonymous body and all over the place just because that is the only way to make your design stand out. Because that's stupid.
