75" Samsung 3D Smart TV. 1080p LED. Lots of functionality. Picture is gorgeous. It would take the place of the current TV in our living room which is a 42" Vizio 3D smart TV, 1080p LCD. The features of the Samsung are indeed incredible. The only thing I wish is that it was 4K. The prices on those just haven't dropped enough yet.
We may buy it next month or so

I was jealous when my uncle got an 82" and my mom got a 73" TV, but work hard, and manage your finances right, and you can own whatever you like. Wealth is not outside the reach of any man or woman. I don't make much money, but over the years I've learned to manage better. I'm not where I want to be, but over the last year, we bought a vehicle, a house, and we are doing OK. Just work hard. Nothing is unattainable.

Oh I could afford it, I just can't justify that amount of money for something only a small percentage larger than a 60". When they get down to $1500ish I'll consider upsizing, until then I'm satisfied.

$3,000, marked down from $4,000 and it will probably get marked down to about $2,400 before we buy it. It was a floor model and they're making room for newer models.

That makes a lot of sense. We've had the 42" for about two years now, and it's an excellent TV, but we felt like we could treat ourselves for once.

I'm sorry but under no circumstances is that worth 3,000, even 2400 is a stretch. TVs are priced really well these days. How often do you use the 3d? My guess is not very often...in which case there are options like a 70" Vizio (1080p) for ~1500 bucks. If you want to spend 3,000ish, wait for 4k.

Well, we watch 3d movies a fair amount. But we may look into other options as well. Vizio is excellent. We have one now. If we can get a better priced one, we will.

Random question. Do you happen to have an amex / plan on using it for your purchase? I have one and I'm not sure if the purchase protection works on Open box items.

My mom would make the payments from her Sears card and we would pay her back each month for each payment she makes, and they said that protection plans do work with that, despite being open box

The Samsung smart tv crap sucks. The tvs themselves are great, just the smart stuff is dumb. If you do anything internet related(Netflix, etc) you have to wait a minute for it to connect to the internet and make sure it's happy. It's a small detail, but it's annoying when you press the netflix button and it loads it, says it's not available, then dumps you to the last used input.
