Finally got my snow tires mounted yesterday. Felt my car pulling to the left upon acceleration today. Pulled over to see if what I suspected was the culprit; it was.
The Farm & Fleet boffins had put both of my 245 section rear tires on the right-hand-side of my car. I was going to just switch it in my garage, but no, they had also mounted the tire backwards when I flipped it around so the tread would be spinning the wrong way.
I'm at a Discount Tire right now getting them swapped.
Long day, but there's a new Ford GT now, which is nice.

Shoulda gone to Discount in the first place.
Also, thats a pretty bad screw up. I'd tell the Farm and Fleet (sounds odd to me because we have Fleet Farm here) that they need to teach their techs how to read more gooder.

Are you in Madison? I only ask because we have both Farm & Fleet and Discount Tire (where I have an appointment tomorrow morning, in fact.)

Yes I am aware they're two different stores.

I can confirm your experience of one sounding funny vs. the other, but in reverse. Fleet Farm sounds funny to me because I only have Farm & Fleet where I live. First time I drove past a Fleet Farm I did a double take.

It happens to the best of them... I ordered a set of direction snow tires mounted on wheels from Tire Rack and they all came in mounted the same way. Luckily we (I) noticed before the customer's appointment, and Tire Rack paid us to re-mount two of them the proper way.

doesn't surprise me. The farm and fleet in oswego, IL and the one down in bradley are a bunch of morons

I have never heard good things about farm and fleets tire service...seems to be a bigger issue than just one store too

I worked the tire desk (counterperson, not technician) at a Farm & Barn (Baraboo, WI), so I can confirm the shop monkeys will fuck up things like this unless the person at the counter is very, VERY specific on the work order. They follow the work order - if it didn't say put the wide ones on the back, they won't do it.

I like the Mills' Fleet Farm in Stevens Point better than the Blain's Farm and Fleet in Baraboo. Mostly because the Fleet Farm sells military and civil service surplus gear. Last time I was up there, they had British constabulary, fire service, and Royal Mail jackets on the rack.

I don't really go to Farm & Fleet here in Madison. I live on the west side, and the two stores here are on the east side and in Verona.
I also don't buy surplus military and/or civil service gear.

do you visit the Costco in lake zurich, because I saw an identical can spinning its wheels pulling out of the parking lot there last Wednesday-ish?

You paid to have that done?
I do it (to) myself and it costs me nothing!
My dad and I were out at Willow Springs last November. I'm sitting on the grid, waiting for the first session Saturday morning. Dad pokes his head in the window and says "You got the wrong tire on the left rear". I figured I had a Sunday tire on there, no big deal.
I figured wrong.
When I load the tire rack at home I load two tall (225's), two small (205's).
At the track I took the Sunday tires off and put the Saturday tires on, and put the Sundays back in the rack. Two tall, two small.
And I torque all four. And I set the air pressure on all four. And not once did I notice I had a stinkin' 205 on the back.
Anyway, motor back to the pits to fix my brain fart, look up at the rack and see three tall, and one small...

I was about to do it myself, but then noticed the tread was backwards on at least one, and I don't have a tire fitting machine to swap tires around wheels

I got a cool folding shovel to keep in the car for winter.

I understood that... I was just having a little fun with my own incompetence, putting tires on the wrong corners. Sorry if it sounded like I was getting on you about it.
I don't have the machine (or the desire) to mount tires either.

Well then, clearly someone else has the same car as you and a propensity to hoon
