Some personal shit. Two of my best friends got in a massive fight tonight. All three of us went to my friend's house tonight to have a couple beers before we went to the bars.
I need to vent, sorry if this is confusing. My friend Ryan and I went out to my friend Mike's girlfriend's car. She was sober driving us. Ryan hopped in the front seat of the car and I sat in the back. Mike came out and was pissed that Ryan took the front seat. He jumped in the back, was extremely drunk and pissed that Ryan took the front seat. He began to choke Ryan in a "playful" way and Ryan fought back a little. Ryan played dead and sat idly in the front seat and started to get out to give Mike shotgun. Once Ryan got out it was a full out brawl. Both guys were throwing punches at each other and I had to break it up. We were at my friend Sam's house and his parents called the police on Mike and Ryan.
Ryan and I walked a mile back to my house and avoided police intervention. My two best friends are beyond pissed at each other. Neither guy thinks they did anything wrong and somehow I'm the mediator in this shit situation. I told both them that they were putting me in a really bad place but neither one cares.
I'm a bit drunk and really pissed off at this whole situation. I would upload screenshots of texts from each of them but I'm on mobile and don't want their full names out there. Fuck their shit. I don't expect anybody to respond to this pathetic fucking post but I just had to get it out in someway.

They're waaaaay more drunk than I am. I tried to tell them that they were BOTH being assholes, but they don't care. I hope it blows over soon. These guys are my closest friends and besides them, I don't have many other friends.

I always grab the back seat when I'm being driven around. 6 foot 3, always uncomfortable, but simply sitting in the back without complaint always diffuses potential arguments.

I hope it all blows over quick. These guys were straight up slugging each other, so it could be a while. Pretty sure Mike got a black eye so God only knows how long it will take for them to apologize and admit that they were both being assholes.

Hell ya. Mike's girlfriend is 5 foot nothin and scoots her seat all the way forward so I had no problem sitting behind her. Pleeeeeenty of leg room haha

This has never happened before. It's insane. We weren't even planning on going buck wild tonight but it happened anyways.
We drink for fun. Don't get me wrong, we do tons of other fun stuff without alcohol, but it's fun to let loose every once in a while.

I think it'll be fine. All this happened under influence and neither of them were thinking straight. I don't drink, but I think your friends are smart enough to realise that alcohol definitely impaired their thinking.

Two things. Wait until totally sober (give it a few days, that increases the punch) and then make it clear they were behaving as assholes. Take no arguments to the contrary, just straight look in the eye and make it clear where the boundaries lay. If you don't, they don't have a problem, you do.
Second, if they are your closest friends, then you have a choice to make. Invest life energy (namely hours from a finite gift - you aren't gonna die sooner or later.. you got what you got coming) in healing this rift, or make that executive type decision whether it's worth it or not for these "closest" friends. I'll admit, and in this case predict, that the older you get, the more picky you get on your "friends." Older means less time on the planet which translates to less time to put up with adolescent behavior. Your choice, obviously, but I want to be clear about something, also: these aren't the only friends on the planet for you. Really. Even if you can't see them right now. Just my opinion, of course. Ymmv.
