This seems like it is either scrap or if the transmission just needs something simple that it might be a good deal. KBB says its worth about 3K in fair condition so it's possible. Opinions?

leave it alone and run.

it will require complete trans m that you can bank on.

combined with susp/brakes , i advise you to steer clear , tell them to take it to the wreckers.

I can't view an automatic as anything other than a time bomb. When problems are present, doubly so.

That's what I figured. Especially with the suspension needed. I'm guessing the owner already knows its junk. I just have no experience with mercs so I wondered if it might be a simple transmission fix. I just realized that I was thinking the suspension wouldn't cost too much when its a merc. That's probably more than the car is worth by itself.
