And it's a beaut! As we know, 176k is low mileage for these things, and that seafoam green is super trendy these days. But will no 4WD be your dealbreaker?

A 2WD Jeep is like an automatic Miata, if you aren't disabled, you have no excuse.

So much CP

I've bought two Jeep Wagoneers for less than the price on that and they are much better equipped with lower miles.

Still stands. Some things are meant to go together, like 4WD and Jeep, Miata and manual, VW and unreliability, etc. This is just a travesty:

No rust, and in pretty good condition also are things that I don't commonly see with the XJ. The lack of 4wd does concern me though, But it would probably be a good car for somebody who doesn't especially need 4wd.

Also, Please note that this Porsche surprisingly doesn't look bad in seafoam green.

NP for a rust free body in the land of snow/salt. The 4x4 issues can be remedied at your local u pick for under 400.

NP. I'm sure he'd take $3000 cash for it. That plus $500 for a junkyard 4WD conversion and you have yourself a pretty nice jeep.

Rockstars on a 2WD, lifted Wrangler? It is the epitome of BRO, all flash.

No 4WD?

No problem. It's one of the easiest vehicles on the planet to convert.

2wd jeep? Just get a wagon.

On a more serious note though, that thing looks sweet. I think it would be worth it to buy and convert to 4wd.

$2000 is NP.

Missouri S&T college (Rolla, MO) had/has a few of these SE base models. I doubt it has a tach.

Green also may be a forestry fleet. 2wd is actually rare.

No 4x4 is not much of an issue. It was designed as a 4x4, and the 4x4 stuff was basically "deleted" to make it 2wd. It has a front beam axle with exactly the same suspension as the 4x4 models. All you need is a front axle (with same gear ratio as your rear axle), 4x4 trans and tcase, front and rear driveshafts, and tcase shifter+linkage. Everything is unbolt old and bolt-in "new". The tcase shifter linkage is honestly the most complex part of the swap. If you can't find everything you need at a junk yard, just buy a not-running 4x4 XJ with the same engine/trans as yours, take what you want, part out the rest, and you may even make money off it.

CP, picked up my 95 5 speed 4x4, 169k miles, already lifted for 2100. Granted, mine has some rust in the usual spots, but that XJ should be going for 2500-3000.

I'd buy it, the body is perfect and I got through plenty of winters with rwd no problem, would be tempted to turn it into something more like this:

Kinja'd!!!

Its manual too, what a score.
