A $1400 Alfa can not be a good idea.

A non car enthusiast friend of mine was talking about replacing his Olds Bravada, and he said "I wish I was "car nerdy" enough to buy an old Alfa." I think pretty much says it all.
Also I told him to by a Honda Fit.

I think you have to be pretty nerdy to own a Bravada. Normal people bought Blazers. lol

Yes, but keep in mind that price has very little to do with work on Alfas. If it cost $14,000 you'd still have a handful. Go for it. Let us know if you make it out alive.

Not worth it with the auto. But really, they're not that bad. Buy it, replace the timing belt, water pump, and set the valves and timing and you're likely going to be in good shape, at least from a catastrophe standpoint.

but the fit is taller and more spacious

But the 3 looks better (to me) and gets better gas mileage (skyactive). The fit has those cool seats that fold around like origami. I wish all cars had seats like those. The fit's a good car. I'm just biased.

well I'm talking more like 5k car so no skyactive. lol

just doooo eeeet. You could be like Doug and write about your escapades. You may even make money. Granted all that money you earn from writing would go into the car. You'd always have content to write.

Fit it is.

The only time you see the words Alfa and Good Idea together is when the words "Romeos are the most unreliable impractical cars in the world yet some how you still got to love them cause it definitely isnt a" is between them.

He should move on to the Olds Silhouette... it's the Cadillac of minivans...

Since you didn't once mention swapping a small block Chevy into it, I'm going to agree it's likely a bad idea from a financial standpoint.

It can't be THAT much worse than owning a 944...
Okay that was a lie.
