MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:

Our initial balance-of-performance adjustments seemed to work out pretty well; unlike our GT car series, most people were a few seconds of each other per lap and no one got lapped so I'll call that a win. That being said, speed disparity was still a factor since some of us were still a second or two faster than the rest of the group, so next race I'll post a target lap time based on what I believe to be a middle-of-the-pack pace, and instead of having to match it like you did this round you all aren't allowed to exceed it. Simple enough, right?

Someone during our race conceived the brilliant idea of awarding an additional trophy to the individual who happens to roll their car the most times during the season. As such, I have created the Microsoft Paint-sponsored Raphael Orlove Memorial Trophy:

Kinja'd!!!

Currently leading the standings for the Raphael Orlove Memorial Trophy is Tohru, who went full Orlove not once

Kinja'd!!!

but twice

Kinja'd!!!

and would have a third time had RoboRed and his Falcon not been kind enough to catch him.

Kinja'd!!!

Additionally, anyone who rolls their cars will be identified and shamed in the post-race in which they Orlove, and must place one Bug of Shame sticker (found by searching 'beetle rite' on the vinyl storefront section and painted in the obnoxious color of one's choice) per rollover in a conspicuous location of their car like so:

Kinja'd!!!

CURRENT ORLOVE TROPHY STANDINGS:

Tohru (Tohru Rokuno): 2

Having a target time to meet BUT NOT exceed will make for some close and intense racing, this just might be the ticket.

Hey, could you upload your copy of the replay to your storefront so I can download it? I forgot to save my own copy because I spaced off looking at everyone's laptimes.

I apologize for my saltiness towards you in the post-race test run at Laguna Seca.

Yeah, we probably should've done that to begin with. I think I set the target time a bit too quick for this race anyways so the slower dudes couldn't really meet it either. Still better results than the GT series' first race here at Sebring.

Absolutely, I treated the target as the limit and I ran close to it the whole time. Everyone raced clean (as in no purposeful spinouts). But going with a more mid-pack target approach should make it easier for back of the pack racers be at least close. With it being so close maybe consider two things, penalties for participants that run too fast (like 3+ sec over the limit) and if things get too chippy and someone spins out another competitor the offender gets a pass through penalty.

Trying to fix my Internet right now (typing from my phone right now), I'll upload it as soon as I can. Meant to last night when it was working but completely forgot, sorry.

Same thing I did, I just had a Senna at Monaco lap where I was like .4 seconds faster than I'd run in practice so I ended up at like 1:23.4 or something. Tbh I thought 1:24 was about the average people would set, didn't consider that there'd be half the field like 3 seconds per lap faster than that. Should've been more clear in my post anyways that the 1:24 was a maximum lap, not a minimum.

We'll just do the 'pull off and wait for the guy you spun to pass you' thing people in online lobbies do if anything serious happens, I don't want to be a control freak on a power trip for this series ordering people around mid-race. What'll probably happen is I'll dock points from people who lap crazy fast, not like anything in-race or whatever, but I highly doubt it'll come to that.
