I hate Vicoden, but the pain is worse. Hopefully tomorrow I can get my hands on some Ice Cream so I wont have to take so many painkillers and My mind wont be a fog.

I get incredibly itchy on vicoden so they have to put my on Percocet. It helps a lot.

I was on Oxycodon for about 6 hours. It made me throw up twice. I think I took some aspirin once and after the first day I was largely pain free. Some soreness the second day but the swelling was more of a pain in the ass than anything else.

Im allergic to all over the counter pain killers except tylenol, which is what my Vicoden is cut with so I have nothing else

I feel the same way. I've never had more than a few sips of alcohol. I think it tastes horrible too. Tastes like burning. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

I actually like the taste of alcohol, the burn too. But I dont like the way it makes me feel. Thats why I'll have one drink every once in a while

Try some antihistamines like promethazine or doxylamine for the itches... works for other stuff.

I'm not sure about Hydrocodone (Vicodin), but I have similar issues with acetaminophen. Because of some injuries i sustained in Iraq and Afghanistan, I generally have hardcore painkillers within reach. Percocet is much the same as Vicodin (5mg hydro/500mg acet) except it's 5mg (or however strong the script is...) of oxycodone instead of hydrocodone. I get straight up 5mg oxycodone pills without the acetaminophen. It helps so much in alleviating some of the sickness that people associate with narcotic painkillers. Yes the APAP makes the narcotic work better, but you can still get 90% of the relief if you just ask your doc to write you a script without the APAP.

For the record though, I love the painkiller feeling. I'm not a big drinker, and eventhough I live in CO and can go buy weed, I'm not a fan of the way it makes me feel. Everyone has their DOC (drug of choice).
