"GTI MkVII" (gtimkvii)

Hey everyone, happy new year!
So after a few months of researching and exploring my options, I finally pulled the trigger on a set of wheels and tires for my Mk7! Really was never a fan of the stock wheels, so I'm ecstatic to be running wheels that (in my view) compliment the design and color of the car so well.
Wheels are OEM VW "Helix" 18x8 ET48. Tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225/40/18.
Cheers!

They look great! Also, is that a C4 Audi 100 I see in your garage?

I love both sets of wheels but I think you definitely upgraded on the new ones. Also, nice UCF license plate!

Yep - it's my dad's 1997 A6 Quattro. Here are some better pics:

I've never really been a fan of the stock wheels from the Mk5, 6, or 7. Remind me of meat slicers or something haha. Couldnt be happier with the new set though. And to my knowledge, I'm the first to be running these wheels on any GTI. Havent been able to find any other info on them online, aside from the VW parts catalog.
And Go Knights!

looks really sharp, definitely what I'd be running if I had your car. Reminds me of Audi S-line wheels.

I love your GTI. I'm looking at buying either a GTI or a TSI Golf later this year. Where in Florida do you live? I live in Boca Raton.

I'm in Sunrise so not too far! You can't go wrong with either car - just depends on what you're looking for and what your budget allows! If and when you get your car, be sure to come out to some of the VW and Audi get togethers we have out in Markham Park. Upwards of 100 cars show up and its always a good time.

Great look! And to my knowledge, I'm the first to be running my OEM wheels on my e46:
I do love the Gen VII. I really wanted its sister, an A3 for the looongest. Got my new wheels to keep me from buying a new car. Was originally running 5 spoke stock 16" wheels. Hated them.

Looks awesome! I've always been of the mindset that wheels can make or break a car. Nice choice.

$800 on Craiglist. 10 minute drive. All four wheels. Easy decision, really. And I agree on the "make or break" ideology. Which is why I'm so happy to see Toyota using an aftermarket company on some of their cars on lots at my local dealership. They aren't used cars either, I asked. The company is putting good looking, aftermarket wheels on brand new models, and it looks fantastic. Kind of a bad message to the design team for Toyota, though. Also Nissan has really stepped up its wheel game on stock models. New Maximas have the option for very nice 18"s in chrome, a cool dark brown coat, a grey coat, or a black coat. Looks great.

Oh, it is haha. Been thoroughly enjoying it since June!
Went with the DSG and have been very happy. Lightning fast shifts and very fun to bang through gears. Has the occasional jerk/hiccup in very slow traffic, but nothing overly jarring.

Oooh, I like it. Our first Audi was my dad's 1994(?) Audi 100. It was called a 100, not an A6, but it was basically identical to that car. Same color and everything. I don't really remember that car. What I do remember was my mom's car when I was a little kid, a 1997 A6 Avant. Also a 2.8 Quattro. The styling of those cars is so classy.
