Yesterday, I met up with a friend of a friend. He pulled up in a Lincoln Aviator similar to the one posted above. He tried to convince me he had a V12 in it, a V12 that ran both diesel AND Gasoline and that could pull a 12,000 lb trailer. Now if he indeed did have a V12 it may be able to pull 12,000 pounds. But I know the frame of the Aviator couldnt handle it. Also he followed me to another friends house, He fell very far behind me with next to no traffic. Now My truck aint a lightweight when it comes to power, But its not anywhere close to V12... Its not even close to a V8! He also said it had dual fuel tanks. I know he's full of it, but it was kinda funny to listen to. He also told me that he is picking up a "2015 Cadillac ST5 Pickup" today, and showed me a picture of the Cadillac Sixteen concept as photo evidence of what he is buying. That isnt a Pickup, it isnt a 2015 model year car, it isnt even a production car! Why do I know these types of people?

I wish they did offer a V12 Navigator though! And they already made a V12 out of two Duratecs! Ford was really stupid by not offering that V12 in their own cars and Jaguars.

What makes you think that Aviator frame can't handle a V12? If a unibody Jag can handle a V12, a full frame SUV sure as hell can.

Yeah, but not for very long or very far. Those could do about 4 tons with a 800lb tongue weight including weight distribution equipment.

Never overestimate the capability of the frame... :)

Too bad I think there was some manufacturing problems, seems like every Aviator I see has had an engine replacement at like 80k miles. Or needs an engine.

My civic has a boxer 23 and it's turbocharged and supercharged. and it switched between fwd, rwd, and AWD when I flip a switch.

The Aviator has nearly twice as much power as you, and is significantly faster than your Ranger. Just because he didn't want to keep up doesn't mean he couldn't.

He's still totally wrong about everything, though.

An aviator has 300HP and weighs 5000 lbs. My ranger has 160HP and weighs 3000 lbs. An aviator has a power to weight ratio of 16-1, my ranger is 15-1. By power to weight, My ranger has more get up and go. Also I can utilize more of my power in 1st and 2nd gear because I have a manual and not an automatic
