Picked this up after work today! Early 80s Trac Eagle 50cc moped! Currently not running, which honestly, is my favorite part. I'm so excited to have something to tinker with. Knowing me, I'll just sell it once it's running, as I have no practical use for an old 2 cycle moped that tops out at 30. I can't even get out of my neighborhood without being on a 45 MPH road.
So far, I've verified it has good compression, but no spark. I'll tinker with it further this evening. It obviously needs a rear tire (and front, it's dry rotted), a rear brake cable, a choke lever and a drive chain, but all the important parts are there, and the tank only has a little surface rust inside. All in all, it should be pretty easy to get running and spruce it up a little. Too bad it's fall, I wouldn't have minded riding it around a bit in the spring or summer before I unload it.
Anyone know if there is a moped or 2 stroke sub Kinja here?

I believe there is a sub blog called pull to start which deals with smaller motorized things. Looks like fun. Me and my buddy way back in high school use to rebuild these for fun. We got ours going way over 30 if you rebuild the engine right.

Pull Start My Heart is kind of a small motor sub blog.
Mind telling us what you paid?

I've already looked at modding it, bu there doesn't appear to be a whole lot available for this particular engine.
Thanks for the tip on the sub blog.

Nice find!
If there isn't a sub-blog we should start one. I did the same thing a few months back and purchased a non-runner '85 Honda Aero 50.
She's been my daily driver since I got her running!

Two strokes are amazing.
I nearly bought a Kawasaki A7 Avenger like this, but it was missing too many parts for the price the seller wanted.

So far, my two stroke experience extends to weed eaters, and that's about it (obvious masturbation jokes withheld with great personal effort on my part), but I'm really looking forward to messing with it. This one could have been missing a lot more parts for the $0 I paid or it :)

A word of warning, small motorized 2 wheel contraptions are freaking hilarious fun and highly addictive. I too bought mine as a project/quick flip, but now I can't bring myself to sell it.
It's really something to have a vehicle that can actually be driven at 10/10ths 100% of the time.
