This is probably the only company that managed to still build good cars during communism. If not for communism Tatra would probably have been a company on Porsche levels. They were had a very good reputation

It could be argued that communism kept their automobile division alive.
After the Union collapsed, people became disinterested in the 613, as they now had access to other, better competitors.
