I really just want to get a kei car, or just a small asian car like that, and import it as a SUPER fuel sipper, and to have something different as hell. I wonder how much that would cost.

I had a similar idea. But I keep running into the same obstacles.
1. Search for anything cool to buy.
2. Remember 25 year-import law. Cry self to sleep.
3. ???????
4. Repeat

I have a variation on that.
1. Search for anything cool to buy
2. Remember no import laws (yaaay!)
3. Remember that anything not sold in the EU and therefore not having a CO2 figure is subject to the highest rate of registration tax and annual road tax. Cry self to sleep.
4. !!!!!!!!
5. Repeat

Sometimes I love being one of the frozen-chosen. 15 year import laws, reasonably decent healthcare, not too many crazy poisonous animals/snakes. It's really quite nice up here.
