Milano Verde anybody?
Series 2 Mustang SVO also seems an even more epic choice.
Or will Mini dominance in H Street continue?

Are you in a fiesta ST? because this move basically guarantees the FiSTs a class win. THey were close to begin with and had there been an exception to let them run 225/235/245 width tires, they'd easily be just as competitive as the FoSTs and GTIs. Moving them into HS is basically saying "You know how you all are in H-stock? Yeah if a fiesta ST shows up, just go home."

As an owner of a fiesta ST...........why the move to HS? I get that the GTIs and FoSTs were dominant but I can tell you why they were in one sentence - they had a much wider tire available from stock. That is it. When GTIs are legally able to mount a 235 or 245 width tire and I'm stuck at 205 at most? Well what the hell do you expect when you combine that with a horsepower differential?

On another site I post on people were claiming that FiST people were getting FoST times. I don't know if this is true or not.

That is very true. I myself posted a time in the middle of the FoSTs in GS in the first ever AutoX I entered in the FiST. I see no reason for the move to HS other than Ford not wanting the FoST moved up a class for whatever reason. If I get my way, I'll enter myself in GS anyways just to keep messing with them.

The Fiesta ST got moved to HS!!! Scared the shit out of me that I might have to compete with the Mazdaspeed3s.

Nope, im in a BMW 318ti. But the FiST getting moved to HS is just ridiculous. Fortunately Ive never even seen one anywhere close to my region.

BMW 318ti, we're a very small region so really the only people in GS are me and my father. But if somebody decides to show up in a FiST then it won't even be close.

Ya I was talking with people about it and everyone seems to like the 318TI in that class. I like the Alfa Romeo options as well, like GTV6 and Milano, but the E30 would be way easier to run and probably has better stock suspension.
People seem to like Integra GSR as well now that you can run them in H

Fiesta ST are probably going to own HS. People already were getting Focus ST times with them, in HS a Focus ST time will be ridiculous. At least Minis will have a very good competitor now.

Ya, a lot of people are mad. Like if you ran a 140hp or less older sport compact car they kind of screwed you over just by adding the Integra GSR.

The 318ti actually shares the rear suspension with the E30 and the from suspension from the E36 was superior to the E30, plus the 318ti sport model had the largest front sway bar of any E36 including the M3. Its essentially the same car as a 91-92 E30 318is.

I'll have to look into it. I could get a 318ti for cheap.
I just see this being the Fiesta class though. EVERYONE where I am has those so I don't want to be ridiculously outclassed

Nobody in my region has a FiST but on occasion theres a FoST or two and I usually beat them or am at least very competitive. With fresh suspension and good tires the 318ti can be a lot more competitive than people think. In terms of raw times the guy who Im running closest to is in a 2011 WRX and he's definitely one of the better drivers in our region.

Theres no reason for our region to exist other than Watkins Glen International and historical significance, hence why its so small.

Half the HS adds make sense. The others are in the COMPLETELY wrong direction.
All you decently powered, maneuverable, short wheelbase kids can get off my lawn.
^ THIS is what an HS car should look like. This right here. Yeah, the Altima should play in HS, too. It's big, floppy and unwieldy. The likes of the FiST and Civic Si are SO above and beyond the rest of us that it's ridiculous.
The Minis should've been bumped up. Other faster things should've stayed in GS or higher.
The whole "meh, I have an HS car and it's not a Mini" phenomenon is discouraging enough to newer participants who might want to try out a regional or national event, but don't want to pay the $100+ fee to get curb stomped by a one-make-fest. And let's be honest: the newer, younger guys who show up to autocrosses tend to have Mom's Old Corolla or Some Crappy Beater Tiburon—and they're precisely what the sport needs to continue existing: fresh meat!
But anyway, the Mini domination should be the impetus for shaking up the bottom classes. Problem is, this proposal leaves nowhere for the actually slow cars to play. I won't be playing with cars making similar times to a decently prepped, less hooned, non-CVT Lancer. Mine's never going to be competitive because I hoon it like it still belongs to my mom and it's an automatic that's not fake-CVT-geared for lower-speed anything—but I'd at least like to be sort of close in times to somebody! This proposed shake-up leaves the likes of me stuck in a class with vastly faster cars. Isn't the point to group people whose cars make similar times, all while keeping a good, fun entry-level motorsport welcoming to n00bs?
