So i work 10hr days and sometimes it gets a bit boring. I was hoping you guys could recommend some stuff for me to listen to. I currently am subscribed to The Smoking Tire podcast and the Hooniverse podcast.

So if you could give me some recommendations, please include a brief description/what genre the podcast is, it would be greatly appreciated

I blew through the Radiolab archives really fast during surgeries this year. Each episode has a different theme and normally has three stories within that theme. But they are totally wild. For example, one episode was on "black boxes" and the three sections were general anesthetics, how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly (ACTUALLY SUPER CRAZY), and an old radio program from australia that was supposedly magic and had a huge following of people that tried to figure out how the show happened. Idk. I was fascinated and really loved every episode.

Radio Le Mans Midweek Motorsport is always good. Generally good banter about most motorsports, 2 hour show every week. Well worth a listen too (but watch out, as the jingles are always SO MUCH LOUDER than everything else ha)

If you like Matt Farrah, you might like the Adam Carolla Podcast, Genre: Comedy.

"How Did This Get Made" is where 3 comedic actors watch a bad movie separately and then talk about/make fun of it the next day. Genre: Comedy.

"This American Life" is often 2-4 documentary-like stories on a broad topic, like what people do after prison, or being an American living in China. Hard to pin down, but worth a listen. They did one spending a few days at a dealership in Jersey as it was trying to make its end of month sales target. That one was great to see car sales from the other side.

"Doug Loves Movies" - Comedian/Stoner Doug Benson and a variety of comedian guests play guessing games about movies. Gets the occasional A List celeb on there too.

"Escape Pod" - A different sci-fi short story each week - they also have a horror podcast & a fantasy podcast if you're not into scifi.

"The Nerdist" - Hour-long conversations with celebrities hosted by the guy who hosted Singled Out, Talking Dead & @Midnight. 5-600 episodes at this point featuring anyone you've ever heard of.

Scott Sigler Audiobooks - SciFi/Horror author reads a few chapters of his books every week. His most popular is "The Rookie" which is about humans & alien monsters playing football 700 years in the future.

"Savage Lovecast" - Kinda like Loveline from the 90's; Advice Columnist Dan Savage gives sex & relationship advice. Morbidly voyeuristic listening.

"Onion Radio News" - satirical fake news stories inspired by current events.

There's some oddball selections for you to try out!
