...and I'm sitting here still playing Shift and Shift 2.
If I still had a PS2 I'd probably still be playing GT4.

I would be except I got rid of my PS2 shortly after I got my original fatty PS3. Had I known that it would die and the new PS3s wouldn't be backwards compatible I'd have held onto it...

Dangit, I wish Digital Burnouts was more active. There's lotsa gamer content here but I miss a lot 'cause I don't follow the Oppo feed religiously.
So tell me... is it worth getting into either one of these games at this late date, and if so which? I keep wanting to convince some of my old buddies to throw in some old racers and that screenshot looks friggin' beautiful.

No. Project CARS is coming out and they made shift and PCARS is going to be so much better than everything ever.

I've never played either of them online, I just bought them both last summer because they were old and cheap. Good fun, pretty good visuals and sounds. The AI can be blood-boiling at times on Shift 2.
All in all, worth spending a few bucks to buy used on Amazon.

Yeah, for real. That game is a must-have. I'm pretty jazzed for it and I haven't even bought a new console.

I'm jazzed because I don't have to buy a console. PC racing holy grail I hope. If this is good I can get out of the console rat race and never buy another one again.

I wish. Missed out on that choo choo train. Nope, I'm just a PC enthusiast who hates keeping his consoles just for racing games. My ideal racing game is in the Gran Turismo / Forza space and this seems like my best shot at a PC game yet.

I've already got AC so my bases are covered. I really like AC but I also want something that leans just a hair more to the casual side. I want a Gran Turismo/Forza equivalent something I'll refer to as a casual sim or console sim.

I like AC and am very excited about the fan made content for it (I already added the C6R and it's currently my favorite) but I am super amped for PCARS with the beautiful graphics and hopefully just right level of gameplay.
