Is a Benz limo called a Benzine?

Well, to be accurate, the red/silver one is called El Benzo. The blue/silver one is the Benzamino. Karl Middelhauve, a German who emigrated to the US in the 50s, built them. They were both inspired by drawings from Paul Bracq. (See the last picture.) Benzomino was first. It was built for fun and to haul a M100 engine plus a test stand to meetings. Middelhauve thought it didn't look flashy enough so he asked Bracq for another drawing, and built El Benzo according to that. With some AMG parts and a custom made fuel injection El Benzo pushes 450 horses.
