Having a 6-month old means time for things like washing the vehicles becomes pretty scarce. With the boy at his grandparent's for the afternoon I finally had a chance to give the VW a good cleaning for the first time in about 2 months.

I'm happy to report that the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on the wheels is holding up nicely and doesn't stain much even with 2 months worth of brake dust and road grime plastered on.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

It is a bit of a pain to clean though. The rubbery texture means dirt and grime don't just wipe off, you have to scrub a little. That plus tightly-spaced spokes means lots of scrubbing with my fingers.

Thanks! She's got her fair share of wear and tear, but still looks pretty decent after a wash.

Nice looking Mk5! What engine is it and do you have any work done to it?

It's just the standard 2.5 6-speed non-DSG auto. I don't know the packages well, but it does have the sportier body work and 17" wheels.

Haven't done any work to it other than dipping the wheels because they were peeling pretty bad.

Yeah, she looks real pretty!

Also very cool thread about refinishing those wheels.

The 2.5 is a pretty stout engine for a stocker. With a reflash and some bolt-ons it does pretty well for itself. Very nice.

I keep telling myself that the cylinder head is a cousin to the ones in the Gallardo's V10 :)

That's probably why an upgraded intake manifold and reflash nets you around 40hp at the wheels ;)
