Hello!! My first post! Been a long time follower of Oppo and Jalopnik. Here's an Alfa Romeo 147 16V JTD, yep 6spd manual and a diesel. Took this pic while i was in Croatia last year (yes thats a MiTo in the background). Enjoy!

Diesel in an Alfa over here is a common thing. So common that the petrol ones are getting rare. Also Fiat/Alfa JTD engines are more durable than TS(petrol) ones.

Nope. Sound business decision if you want to sell in markets where diesels are popular. Same as diesel Maseratis and Porsches.

The 147 was meant to be their volume car and wasnt neccesarily all that sporty so it made sense. It was more a fiesta rival that looked and felt a little more stylish.
