And I decided to shape my own. I'm either stupid, crazy, or both. But I think it's going good.

Awesome! Good on you for making your own stuff but also for wanting to go weld your own stuff. I'm hopefully doing that in the late winter. Mine have significantly more Flintstone holaege.

I need to redo my trunk floor after making my own 1/4 panel patches and replacement pieces (nobody makes replacement panels for a 73 Buick LeSabre). I'm worried about using flat sheet because the missing ridges are what prevent flopping up and down and stuff. I was thinking about just banging a few ridges into some flat sheets but I'll try to find a different repop trunk floor to use, something close enough...

Some things you might want to consider.
Without the embossed/bead rolled areas the panel will pop and bang as the car twists a bit during driving.
What is supporting the bottom of the panel? Since you will be sitting on it I am not sure the adhesive is strong enough to withstand the forces encountered when hitting bumps, potholes and twisting movements.
I'm not sure the panel adhesive will hold up to this type of application. I would do a lot of research to be sure before you waste the time, money and effort.
