So, I learned the most flattering thing today, after I was stood up yesterday. The girl I was going to ask to homecoming told me that she likes me too much to date me! Now, knowing this person, that's high praise. she has NEVER had a relationship lasting more than 2 months. All her boyfriends were morons/idiots/street racers/drug dealers. Basically, she told me that I can do a lot better, and that she doesn't want to hurt me by dating me. Now, this might sound like a straight up rejection, but coming from this person (who never keeps friends for long either, because they start hating her) this is amazing. Plus, I told her how I was going to ask her to homecoming last night when she stood me up, and took her to the romantic spot where I was gonna ask her, and she was so happy!

note: This is just me getting my feels out. Tonight was a good night! :D

dude, maybe my thing came off wrong. Basically I'm saying that I'm ok with being in the friend zone here.

Plus, she actually needs me. I'm the reason she does anything right. I've had to bail her ass out from very bad scenarios before (OD-ing at a party etc...)
She has now stopped partying, which she attributes to me. basically, she told me she doesn't want me to leave her, and that's what's I'm gonna do. stay there to be her bro she needs. she straight up told me I'm like her guardian angel, so that's something :P

I've got a friend that's the same way... she's got a son (I've been a huge part in his upbringing without being his dad), and she's just a month or so away from giving birth to son number two..

Oh boy. Liking you too much to date you, dating biker outlaws, standing you up only to have you pour your heart out...there's no "high praise" here. She's politely grouping you with all the other guys in her life who follow her around like lost puppies and fall all over themselves to shower her with praise and put her on a pedestal.

Which is a separate group from the guys she'd actually date, and who you may consider dirtbags but manage to create attraction through confidence and not caring what she thinks. At the very least, please tell me you aren't spending time, money, and energy doing things for her you'd never do for a guy or unattractive girl (and that she'd never do for you)...you cannot win a girl's heart by acting like her manservant.

If you really enjoy the one-sided relationship, then more power to you. Just don't think it's unique...a million girls have the same with ten million frustrated guys.

Every girl of moderate or better attractiveness has a double digit number of Nice Guys devoted to spending money on her and rearranging their days to rush over and perform good deeds. They think it's something special but girls generally want someone they can look up to, so making themselves so available and easy is a big turn off.

At best she adds you to her text rotation to complain about how biker outlaws treat her and get some easy compliments, while you tell her she deserves better (meaning you, to which she responds that you're so sweet and some lucky girl that's not her will be lucky to find you, just not her). At worst you ramp up the supplication and she despises you for your good deeds.
