100 aperature durometer is SUPER hard. That would make it a fantastic drift wheel! I've seriously got to get back on my longboard. My laziness is to blame.

I got kinja'd! 100 aperture durometer makes a great longboard slide wheel. I nominate Eastside H2O as Oppo's rain skate wheels.

and I nominate the Zombie Hawg as the official hush speed wheel. Flywheels are just too damn big.

Longboarding is wicked fun. Those Autobahns are a wee but small for a longboard in my opinion. What kind of board do you ride?

I ride an Arbor Cypher and a Loaded Vanguard Flex 3. I prefer the Loaded since it is way lighter than the Arbor, but when I do downhill, I prefer my Arbor.

Its even lower than that now since I use 1/8" shockpad risers between the trucks and deck. Its a Landyachtz Switchblade40. The one behind it is a Landyachtz Switch 35. My other one is an Arbor Koa Hybrid.

Do these come in longboard sizes? I need them!

Holy damn! 2 Landyachtz and an Arbor. Where do you skate at?

Also, I want some advice. I use my Loaded to slide and it does okay to slide but I can't get a drift worth a damn. Should I adjust the axle/truck tightness? I'm using Butterballs as my slide wheels which have helped.

(random side note, I thought I kinja'd on my first post. It didn't show up at first)

I skate all over Kingston, there are a couple killer hills downtown. Also, parking garages. Especially concrete ones. Nice and slippery for sliding.

As for sliding, some people like them either way. Personally, I like them fairly loose, so I can change direction quickly and break loose. I use butter balls too actually. They're on the arbor with a set of 50 degree Gullwing Chargers. A short wheel base helps you initiate a slide, but a long one helps make it smooth and controllable.

Did that make sense?

Also, one thing about Butterballs, I've actually found that they can be a bit hard to break loose. They're actually kinda soft for a drift wheel, but once the break loose, they thane like nothing else.

Hope that helps.

Beats me.

I saw them in a catalogue then looked them up online.

Helps a ton! Since my Loaded is super flexible, I might loosen them. They are a bit tight for a flexible board. Also, I never thought about skating a parking garage. I'll try that some time.

Also, regarding the butterballs, I agree that they are difficult to break loose. But, the thane lines they leave! The wheels at one point got so hard to break loose they gripped better than my O-tang In Heats. So, I had to scrub them with dish soap and it helped break them loose easier. I have no idea why.

I also skate all over Colorado/Manitou Springs. I hope to one day skate down the Pike's Peak Hillclimb since it is all pavement now.

That sounds awesome. Make it a giant free ride weekend and have a bunch of skaters take over pikes peak for a weekend.

Also, I've found that flexy boards can be a bit unpredictable in a slide. But that's not saying it don't work. Just my 2 cents.

I've heard the same. My Arbor slides pretty well, too, but I use the flexible board to help learn how to slide better. I have some O-tang Durians that I'll probably put on the Arbor and loosen the trucks up to do better sliding. Hopefully that helps.

Have you had good luck with the OTangs? The ones I was looking at last were Abec11s of some kind. Center set and Classic Thane are all I remember.

I've had awesome luck! The Durians are almost universal. They were meant for sliding, but I've gone like 30 mph on them with no issues. They cone super easily though for a medium durometer.
