before I sent this thing back to my insurance company (packaging provided was too small for the whole box), I decided to open the box, and voila!
This pretty much makes an eyesore add-on for any interior. The package comes with velcro to mount it.
According to the instructions provided, it says that the system must be plugged in at all times, except for when it is parked for over a month, and it determines your cost by driving schedule, acceleration+braking and distance traveled annually.
No thanks, I live in a fairly repressive province, but I'm not letting insurance restricting my fun any more than it should be. Back to the insurance company it goes, I didn't even test it, as I sold the vehicle it was going to be fitted on before I got it.
Adios, you snitchin' device!

I could've saved a fair bit on insurance with one of these. Needless to say I paid the extra...

Had the Progressive version in the Civic. We only had to have that in for 90 days or so, and it was much smaller. Saved about 25%.

Would they throw a fit if I unplugged it for everything but my commute?

Too late. Also, grandma is in another country.

Well, that explains why it takes seemingly forever for most people these days to accelerate when the light turns green.

Good question. Switch cars with her for a month?

Oh, I almost forgot: My grandmother is not slow behind the wheel. She loves stickshift, and probably could outperform me in autocross.

Could work, aside from the fact that my grandmother lives 8000 miles away and has never driven a car in her life.

Thats the least she could do, since she's responsible for my annual weight gain...

That sounds familiar.
