Also, they seem to be using the term "converted" a little loosely.

I'm currently airbrushing up some plaguebearers for a combined Daemon/Plague Marine army. Once that's done I'm going to do a Necron battleforce, Catacomb Command Barge and Doom Scythe up as a 1000 point army in this color scheme:
/END WARGAMING NERD DERAIL.

I'm half/finished base-coating a Stormblade super-heavy tank that I got a year ago. But damnation it's hard to keep my attention focused to so big a task.
I also keep lusting after the new Mechanicus stuff that Forgeworld is putting out. Dat Thanatar-Class Siege Automata...

I think they'd give that a pass if you wanted to race it at LeMons or something!

ME TOO! My current "I really should set aside a bit of money to make this possible" army is a couple of those new super awesome Imperial Knights with a Mechanicus "support crew".

y'know what? I'd drive it. That's totally not a bad price if it's mechanically sound. It needs some TLC, but man, just look at those running boards!
I love a car with running boards and fender-mounted headlights.

That is one massively ugly shitheap.
But for $4k? Hell yes. Jump it until it splits in half.

You know what? Screw it. Somebody needs to buy this and give it the audacity of its appearance. Slam a Viper v-10 in there with massive sidepipes. Put some decent rubber on the tires. Carpet all of the inside in purple shag. Give it a gorgeous pearly new coat of paint. Because the world needs some crazy.

I want just a small force to augment my Dark Angels. Something like 1000 points to go with my 4000 of Dark Angels.
My current fantasy list is:
- HQ: Archmagos on an Abeyant.
- Troops: 20 Tech Thralls, 6 Thallax Cohort.
- Heavy Support: Thanatar-Class Siege Automata.
And then if I can get my act together, and money is good, perhaps even a Cerastus-Knight Lancer. To go along with my current Knight Errant. :)
(But it probably wouldn't go that far, Cerastus class Knights are $$$)

All my building plans will go to shit once GW finally releases all plastic Noise Marines, or if Forge World finally gets around to doing the Slaanesh/Tzeentch chaos Imperial Armour book that they've been putting off ever since they did Nurgle/Khorne.
The current plastic dudes with metal arms and guns models I purchased an army's worth of back when you could buy metal bits direct from GW are the worst. I don't mind combining plastic with metal, for the most part, but these are engineered for failure, putting all the weight up high and on the front of the model. There is no way of stopping them from falling flat on their faces. But if they made ones that were able to stand on their own, LOOK OUT, MOTHERFUCKERS! I HAVE AN ARMY OF GUYS WITH GUNS THAT BLOW UP TANKS BY SHOOTING THEM WITH ROCK AND ROLL!

You might want to weight the bases. Nickles work great for the infantry bases and metal washers are best for the larger ones.
Did you get a look at the Kakophoni models for the Emperor's Children? Pretty slick. I'm wondering what's going to happen when we finish off the 7 Ed update cycle. With Dark Eldar launching this month and Blood Angels rumoured to be next, that leaves us with (Checks site) OH WOW, just Necrons and (Snicker) Sororitas (We all know that Digital Edition update barely counted.) left to update.
If they come around full circle and do another codex update it'll be Chaos Marines and then Dark Angels.
But fuck I hope they don't, I don't think I could keep up with such a break-neck release pace. (Although it would really be nice to have access to Hunters and Stalkers. CAN WE GET SOME AA HERE?!!!?)

I've tried weighting the bases, and you really can't get enough weight into them without using plutonium or something to keep them falling over.
And I've seen the Kakophoni. They're a great glimpse at how awesome proper FW Noise Marines would wind up being. Just look at the models while keeping the design differences between the current Eldar Guardians and DE Kabalite Warriors in mind.
Part of me wants to build a Heresy-era Emperor's Children army, mostly because of how much I love Slaaneshi anything and how wonderful the whole EC story has been in the Horus Heresy novels thus far. I love the whole epic Greek tragedy arc Fulgrim's tale has taken, how his legion's pursuit of perfection wound up corrupting them all.
Once I fully master using my new airbrush, I'm going to put together a diorama with FW models depicting my favorite scene in the whole Horus Heresy story, when Fulgrim faced his best friend Ferrus Manus in combat, wielding not the sword Ferrus had forged for him, but one the one he took from the Laer that was tained by Chaos, in the moment before Fulgrim decapitated Ferrus with a single swipe of his blade.
