I'm moving in with my girlfriend this weekend. Despite having both a 135is and a Grand Cherokee, I'm not one to accumulate lots of crap. So I've been progressively emptying my apartment and driving stuff over to her townhouse. But—and feel free to make fun of me—I hadn't figured out how to flip the back seats down until today.
Basically the issue was I had been trying to take the rear headrests out, and they wouldn't budge. Turns out the little lever that I thought was the headrest release actually is for flipping the headrests down. With the headrests down, you flip the bottom of the seat cushions forward, then the seat backs can fold totally flat. Pretty slick actually.
Just look at all that room.
The only large items I have to move are a dresser, a tv, tv stand, and mattress. I'm getting rid of my sofa. I've got a buddy lined up to help me load the big items. I'm paying him with breakfast for the hangover he plans to be nursing on Sunday morning.
No moving truck needed!
In closing, having a cheap old SUV to go with a fun car is kinda great.

Not only can you throw stuff into it, but if you've got roof racks, you can (hopefully properly) tie stuff to the roof as well.
When I got my wagon, roof racks were a really important thing for me.

Hopefully your GF has a pretty good parking arrangement you don't need a fight with another landlord.

Good memory! The parking situation at my apartment ended up being a non-issue. Mostly the apartment manager was just being a pain in the ass over nothing.
As for the townhouse, this is the back of the building:
Each townhouse has a 1-car garage, and there's 6 outdoor spaces on the other side of the driveway/parking lot out back. There's room to park another car outside of each garage (which blocks in the car in the garage), and plenty of street parking.
My gf and I will alternate weeks in the garage. I'm storing the 135is in winter. The storage discount on my insurance will mostly offset the cost of the storage unit. Compared to last winter where I kept the 135is in my garage and parked the Jeep outside, this winter I'll have the Jeep inside every other week. Upgrade.
Now, if we had tried to find a new place to move into, I probably would've wanted somewhere with a 2-car garage. But she was already living here, and it's quite cheap. We'll each save about $500/month in rent & utilities so I'm willing to share the garage.

I have the same jeep. 1999 wj 4.7 with 42,000 miles, it took me a while to fold down the head rests too. I had been removing them (push both buttons on the headrest, one is flush and hard to see)

I owned my focus wagon for a year, and constantly bitched about the fact the rear seat backs wouldn't fold compleatly flat, befor seeing an older gent with the rear seat bottoms flipped up towards the front allowing room for the backs to lay flat. I felt stupid and extremely happy all in the same moment.

I actually offered to buy him beer and he asked for food instead. He said he had plenty of beer and planned to be nursing a hangover while helping me.
