Yup, another GM recall, but this is a pretty serious one: there's something wrong with the steering column in each and every Opel/Vauxhall Adam or Corsa made after May of this year. That's about 8000 cars.
The advice is not to drive one until it has been inspected. This is breaking news !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and there's not even a page on the Vauxhall or Opel sites yet, but more advice is to follow.

Seems GM isn't quite out of the recall woods yet.

In completely unrelated news: I just saw an Adam like this from the corner of my eye, and it suddenly struck me:
Landau bars!

Interesting! I could be mistaken, but isn't this the first big GM Europe recall since the start of *ahem* 'recall-gate'?

Thanks for posting this. I've just phoned my friend who bought her Corsa new two months ago. Thankfully she won't be driving it tonight as she's playing bingo and probably won't be in any fit state to drive. Lol.

Yep; I can't actually remember another GM Europe recall either. Wonder whether that means that a) Buick has been the most recall-free of all GM North America brands so far, and b) whether it might affect the Buick Encore too. Since there's not been a word about the Opel/Vauxhall Mokka it basically is, I guess not, and though the Mokka is based on the same platform as the Corsa and Adam, it seems more closely related to the Chevy Sonic.
