While the Mustang II was pretty much garbage, ok shit is probably more accurate, but that doesn't mean that they have to be hated. While poking around CL I found this beautiful Cobra II (replica?) And for the $7k asking price Id rather have this than other Mustang that could be found for the same kind of money, I mean just look at it. Plus, Im sure with very minimal work it could be made to sound amazing and put down some respectable power numbers. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Farrah approves.

Actually, Mustang II Ghia Sports are a guilty pleasure of mine. Especially in this color combination. Sacrilege, sure, but sue me.

As I mentioned in a post the other day, I am vehemently anti-Mustang II. But I'd still buy this!

That's quite elegant looking, but much more Cougar than Mustang and no ornaments ever will disguise the rotten apple underneath the surface.

One of the biggest problems was the motor, or lack there of lol.

He's fixed that and is smart to put it in the first line. Small bore, huge cylinder head upgrade to the GT40's - sincerely great heads for the 302, 4 barrel holley, we're good.

People rip Mustang II suspensions out and put them in better performing cars all the time, the front suspension is actually really good.

I'm sure some aren't a fan of the looks, but this build is a hell of a set up.

I always liked the looks of the II. Not much of a performer. But, nothing was in that era.

I don't care what anyone says. I love me some Mustang II Cobras.

Eh, the Pinto underpinnings were totally fine for an economy car. By the time the 'Stang II came out, they weren't exploding any more. It just wasn't really Mustang-y. Or, at least the Mustang people had come to know. It had gone back to its "secretary car" roots.

How hard would it be to drop a Coyote into one of these lightweight things?

I had one of these in black with gold and orange decals and striping many years ago. While the build quality and materials were pure crap, it handled reasonably well for the time period and a set of aluminum heads, 4bbl carb, cam and headers woke up the engine considerably from what it was originally. I gave it to my oldest daughter when she turned 16. She drove it for the next 10 years, then sold it to buy a new (at the time) 04 Mach I which she still has to this day.
