Found this ad crusing the interwebs for cool projects cars. For $2000 you could get yourself 4, YOU HEARD ME 4!!! Austin Mini's. I know what you are thinking! NP NP but look at this mess.

Kinja'd!!!

They look all to be in various states of parts on what is known as the scary end of town. The bodys seem to be completely overgrown and parts look to be in one of those terrible tin sheds.

The seller states that there is enough parts to make one good one. I mean just look at that little motor!

Kinja'd!!!

So is anyone feeling like they need a hell of a pain of a project in order to get something like this?

A lot of that too, although Mini's are simple and have a lot of documented builds so it could all be worked out. Welding up all the rust (even the clean looking minis are hiding rust) would be a nightmare. The A panel in particular is a bit of a pain to get a nice clean line.

Kinja'd!!!

A friend nearly got a Mini off his dad that needed new A panels so I was researching replacement, but it fell through.

These would be good if just need parts, trying to put these three together might be a nightmare.

Welding is definately not my forte! Or dragging Mini's out of a place they haven't moved from in a decade.

Hmm wonder how much it would cost for these guys to play with it, and take care of the headache for me http://www.superfastminis.com/ but then the question becomes B series or K series swap....hmmmmm

I'd imagine you'd need to buy parts to complete a single car for sure. I'm not sure what kind of person hoards 4 of them then leaves them to rot.

I've ridden in one here in Houston, the thing is stupidly and hilariously quick while also being fairly quiet. Great little sleeper of a car.

I had a 1990 Mini Thirty anniversary edition for a couple years. I thought I would have time.....there is NEVER enough time to find all the rust...

They get looks everywhere, even here in Europe. Might be worth it if you have a second life to devote to finding all the hidden surprises.

Would love to have one just for summer driving or even winter hooning!

The 1990 was that rusty?

I still want one!

Yeah, the base of the windscreen needed to be re-done. It had the OEM body kit and there was just a cloud of rust when I removed the pieces. The engine bay had an expanding hole on the passenger side wing.

Interior was clean though, I bought it with rose colored glasses based on that alone in non-running condition. Got it running though and made what I had into back in the sale at least.

Agreed, though down here we don't really have winters per se. Also, the guy's garage is nuts, he also owns 2 Caterhams, and a Lotus Esprit V8.

Where is this? I need to make sure it's far enough away that I won't make a poor decision and ruin my life and finances.

I read one thread where the owner had ground off all of the panel joins so that they could just weld on the A panels without needing to get the join aligned properly. Looked strange.

We have winter that freezes car solid so it might not be a good idea.

Definately very Jalop.
