Mustang EcoBoost Fake Engine Noise? What to Think...

I have one of these on preorder. News of having fake engine noise piped into the cabin via the stereo really puts me off of this though. I really don't like the entire concept of fake engine noise.

So, Oppo, what should I do? Should I hold out and live with that issue, or stand up against the stupidity of this entire situation? If I were to cancel, what could I consider instead? I'm not a big fan of the Camaro RS, and the Challenger is a bit on the heavy side. Manual gearbox is a requirement.

BRZ, slightly used GT, or find out if you can reroute a wire or fuse or something to get rid of the piped in noise.

Having driven the previous MY, I can tell you that you won't be disappointed in the sound of the V6.

1LE is getting up there in price. $38k for no other options. Sure, it looks good, and it would be fun, but I don't think that I can swing that.

Could always go the V6 route on the Camaro. Still makes 323 horsepower. A 1LS starts at like $24,700.

Really, I bet there's a fuse or a setting somewhere to turn off the fake note off on the EcoBoost.

Even though, from what I've read, the new Mustang is pretty lackluster for all the hype it got.

If that's enough to make you cancel buying the car, as crazed clay said, how badly do you really want it in the first place? I hate this feature on the M5, but it wouldn't be enough to stop me buying one.

There is a fuse for the fake noise, it's the fuse for the entire stereo, IE not a viable solution.

I drove a 1LS, and I didn't much care for it. Would consider, sorta, the 2LT RS. Red with black stripes maybe. But, I've never been the biggest fan of the Camaro.

The fence, it's where I'm currently located.

The M5 is more of a luxury car than the Mustang. I could understand it more in a car like that, but I don't like it there, either.

You could get a decent C6 with a warranty at a Carmax for 30k. Not that you need a warranty

You can hear it much louder than stock; the sound symposer will still kick in under the right amount of load; but the two together sounds pretty sweet IMO.

Personally if I were in your shoes, I would go the GT route, even if you had to wait to save up. It's also my rule of thumb to avoid Y1(Year 1) cars.

I like turbos, and I think that the new motor is very interesting. First modern 4 cylinder pony car. Plus, all the performance pack options for it are nice, else I would have really just gotten the 6.

I dunno. Maybe I'll stick with it and just delete the muffler. Worked for Fiat, right?

Eh...I've heard the Ecoboost.....It sounds like the FoST stock, muffler delete would most likely= this:

This is better, but not my cup of tea. When I can afford one, unless a new Porsche has my heart, I'll go with a GT; I've kinda had my fill of 4-cylinders. Too many turbo'ed, modded and riced up ones around me.
