Oh Craigslist. Well, I went to try and get insurance for the Volvo. I have now learned that she has.... a rebuilt title. This kind of sucked. But, the good news is what caused it. The car was stolen in 2010. And the police didn't find it fast enough so they wrote the car off. They then found it and sold at auction, which is how the PO must've gotten it. I was still able to get full coverage though! Have a pic of my pop out cupholders!

I know it was. I'm only mad at myself. He told me it was clean. He bought the car after it was stolen and auctioned off.

I just didn't want to spend the money honestly and also I did some checking myself on parts that made me think it wasn't wrecked: for instance EVERY piece of glass on the car is still the OEM Volvo glass stamped with the 1999 year. All vins matched on the car. So that made me feel alright with doing the deal.

Again, I know I fucked up. But I'm going to drive it into the ground anyway and for $1700 it's not a huge deal.

It sounds like he definitely knew the title wasn't clean though, I'd bring it to a mechanic or check for frame damage just in case something happened off the records. The worst kind of seller is the kind that isn't honest about something.

I didn't check it on my car, but then again I only paid three digits for it! At scrap value, it doesn't matter.

However, I'd *never* spend more than $2000 on a car without looking it up.

As soon as I get tires on it I'm going to take it to one of the best Volvo mechanics in the country. He's like 45 minutes away and I'm having him look for anything and everything.

Yup, I checked the Carfax when I bought a $2,500 car and it happened to be completely clear. But sometimes when the price seems too low to be true, you've got to get a little bit suspicious.

Well there are two things that make me think differently: Fl requires an inspection before a car gets a rebuilt title. So that is most likely a good sign.

Also, there are two different ways it could've showed up: stolen and stolen/stripped. So that makes me feel better because it supposedly wasn't found missing a ton of pieces.

And yeah Im going to most likely be the last owner here.

I've never gotten a Carfax report that I can remember. No fucks I guess.

Its kind of like knowing all your girlfriends past, yes it matters forever, but not if this will only be for a few years, or till you meet your next girlfriend.

Dude, you should get a new console, I'm pretty sure those cupholders are broken. I have the same ones that I installed on my 850, and they have a thing on the right side to hold stuff in. Also, sorry about the salvage title.
