This !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! convertible was parked in front of my office this morning. The GTA was the performance version of the Renault Alliance. In this case, “performance version” means 95 hp. Those of you who know me might be wondering, “wait, you live in Wisconsin, not France, how is this the native land of a Renault?”
Well, the Alliance was built by AMC in Kenosha, WI. It was their last attempt at a small car, built under Renault ownership, before Renault sold AMC to Chrysler.

I drove one of those back in the day. Eye opening handling for what it was. That and Peugot's 405 M16 were two hot little cars back then. You had those running around along with Alfa Milanos. Good times in the mid 80's.

The R9 was an innocuous little car that served lots of people, mainly in France it must be said, well enough until Renault thought to make something different (the R19 if memory serves).
What did it do to deserve being turned if this eyesore?
Mind you and on the other hand it is plainly still going which is more than you can say for about 99.99% of the rest of them.
